Annan Coffee Morning The Dumfriesshire Tweeddale and Clydesdale Constituency Labour Party held a Coffee Morning last Saturday 19th September at the Market Hall Annan.
This was hosted by the Labour Party and Co-operative Party Westminster candidate Claudia Beamish and Councillors Ronnie Ogilvie and Sean Marshall. Russell Brown MP and his wife Christine also supported the event.
Fair Trade tea and coffee were available and the Scottish Co-operative Party donated a FairTrade hamper which was first prize in the raffle won by Mr Cinni of Annan. Claudia said,“I am proud to be a Co-operative candidate, in part due to the Party’s long commitment to the promotion of Fair Trade. This is one of a series of similar events being held throughout the constituency, which are giving people the opportunity to meet me and discuss issues of concern.”
"As a teacher I am so aware that communities develop most strongly when young people can look to local jobs on leaving school. So for me it is great to be working with Councillors Marshall and Ogilvie as Labour candidate. We are all pleased that our Labour Government announced that the Council has been successful in its bid for funding in the second round of the Future Jobs Fund, enabling the Council and its partners to create 91 jobs for the long term unemployed aged from 18-24.” |
