Wishing everyone in Dumfriesshire Clydesdale & Tweeddale a very happy, healthy, prosperous, peaceful and environmentally sustainable 2010!

While my son Francis was enjoying the Street Party in Edinburgh, I spent a pleasant evening with my partner Michael and daughter Freya.

In Biggar High Street  people of all ages were in positive mode and there was Ceilidh dancing.

I spent a few minutes reflecting by the bonfire, on the past year -  how many people and groups I have met in the constituency as your Scottish Labour and Co-op Parties candidate and how much I have learnt from this experience. And thinking to the future  - how I now feel ready to serve you at Westminster.

I hope those who had to work over this weekend have a good break too and wish everyone a Happy New Year!
